What Is Employee External ID
Purpose
Employee External ID is an optional identifier that allows you to store your own internal employee ID directly in the employee profile on Remofirst.
It can be used to match employees between Remofirst and:
Your internal HR system
Payroll or accounting tools
External reports or internal tracking systems
This field does not replace the Remofirst Employee ID and does not affect platform functionality.
Where You Can See and Edit It
You can access the Employee External ID field in the following places:
Add New Employee
Client app → Add New EE flowEmployee Profile
Client app → People section → EE Profile → Personal info tab
How the Field Works
Field rules
Optional field
Accepts 1–100 characters
Letters, numbers, and special symbols are allowed
Default value is empty
Permissions
Editable by all Client users
No approval required
When You Should Use It
Use Employee External ID if:
You already assign internal employee IDs in your company
You want to easily match Remofirst employees with your HR or payroll system
You need consistent employee references across internal reports
You can leave the field empty if:
You do not use internal employee IDs
You rely only on Remofirst employee identifiers
How to Add or Edit Employee External ID
How to edit
Open the Employee Profile
Go to the Personal tab
Click Edit button
Find the Employee External ID field
Enter or update the value
Save changes
Important Things to Know
The field is for reference purposes only
It does not trigger validations, workflows, or notifications
It does not impact onboarding, payroll, or compliance processes
The same value is visible to Admins
