I. The Client's Decision Layer: Setting Up the Agreement
When initiating a contractor engagement, you must decide between using one of RemoFirst's compliant contract templates or uploading your own custom agreement.
Key commercial fields to define in the contract include the scope of work, the payment frequency (e.g., monthly or bi-weekly), and the agreed-upon rate in your preferred currency. Furthermore, all agreements are designed to ensure the client's ownership of all intellectual property (IP) and include comprehensive confidentiality provisions to protect sensitive data.
II. The Signature Process: Making it Official
Both the client and the contractor must digitally sign the contract within the platform to ensure legal compliance. Once you, the client, review and confirm the contract details (Contractor Details, Job Details, and Compensation), the system sends an email to the contractor inviting them to e-sign the legally binding agreement.
III. The Contractor's Next Steps: Full Onboarding Activation
The contract signing is a mandatory verification step for the contractor to be fully onboarded and able to submit timesheets.
To be fully onboarded and ready for invoicing, the contractor must complete the following mandatory steps after signing the agreement:
- Tax Form Completion (W-8 variants)
- Identity Verification (via Samsa)
- Bank Detail Submission (required before invoicing begins)
- Invoice Generation and Upload (The contractor must generate and upload their own government-compliant electronic invoices for validation)
Payout is blocked until the contractor completes all these required onboarding steps.
