Overview
Colombian labor law requires additional payment when employees work on public holidays, overtime, or night shifts. For RemoFirst to process these payments correctly, clients must report this work to RemoFirst as it occurs β payroll cannot apply premiums for hours it wasn't told about.
Who this applies to
All employees in Colombia who work under any of these conditions, regardless of role or seniority:
- Public holidays
- Overtime
- Night shifts
How to report
Clients have two options:
- Additional Payments tab in the RemoFirst platform β log the date, hours, and type of work directly.
- Email support@remofirst.com with the employee name, date(s), and hours worked.
Why this matters
Unreported hours lead to:
- Underpayment to employees for legally mandated premiums
- Payroll discrepancies that require retroactive correction
- Potential compliance exposure for late or missed statutory payments
Action Required for Clients
Report public holiday, overtime, and night shift hours for Colombia-based employees each pay cycle, before the payroll cutoff, using either channel above.
