You can add a contractor from the People section of your RemoFirst account. Prepare the contractor's legal, work, and compensation information before you begin.
Before you start
Confirm:
- Legal first and last name.
- Personal email address.
- Country and region of work.
- Job title and scope of work.
- Contract type and expected end date, if fixed.
- Payment frequency, Rate type, amount, and currency.
- Payment frequency.
- Client signatory and optional line manager.
- Whether you want to request RemoCheck.
Add the contractor
Tour overview - Add Contractor- Sign in to RemoFirst.
- Navigate to People from the side navigation menu.
- Select "Add new hire".
- Choose "Contractor"
- Enter the contractor's personal details. Use the legal name that appears on the contractor's government-issued identification.
- Select the correct country and region.
- Choose whether a RemoCheck background check is needed.
- Enter the job title and description of services. Add a department or line manager if required.
- Select the contract term, payment frequency, and rate type: monthly, daily, hourly, or milestone.
- Enter the agreed rate and contract currency.
- Invite the contractor to the platform.
- Add the contractor agreement "Contract". You can create an agreement through RemoFirst or upload a pre-signed agreement. Review all company, contractor, and compensation details before sending an agreement for signature.
The platform sends an invitation to the contractor. You can monitor their progress in the People section.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using a nickname instead of the contractor's legal name.
- Entering a work email that the contractor may lose access to.
- Selecting an incorrect country, currency, or rate type.
- Confusing contract currency with the contractor's receiving currency.
- Sending the agreement before reviewing compensation and dates.
- Adding the same contractor more than once.
