A line manager oversees a contractor's day-to-day workflow and receives operational notifications regarding the engagement, subject to platform permission settings.
Tour overview - Update Line ManagerAssigning a Manager During Contractor Setup
- Navigate to People on the side navigation menu and select Add new hire.
- Complete the required personal and job details.
- In the Line manager field, select an existing manager from the dropdown menu.
- If the desired manager is not listed, invite them to the platform first before assigning them to the contractor.
Note: While the line manager field is optional, assigning the appropriate person ensures that relevant notifications reach the right user.
Assigning or Updating a Manager
- Go to the People section.
- Search for the specific contractor profile, then open it.
- Navigate to the details section, go to Job info, and edit the Line manager field.
- Select the updated user and save changes.
Pre-Assignment Checklist
Before updating a line manager, verify that the user:
- Holds an active client user account.
- Maintains correct company access and operational permissions.
- Is informed of their responsibilities regarding contractor management and notifications.
Updating the line manager does not alter roles such as the authorized agreement signatory, billing contact, or account administrator. Adjust those roles separately as needed.
